Addition of Poland as a target risk country

Updated: Aug 13, 2021

In about a month a new BMSB season begins. BMSB seasonal measures will apply to targeted goods shipped from target risk countries between 1 September 2021 and 30 April 2022. Australian and New Zealand governments are updating their strict import regulations to avoid this pest entering their respective countries.

New on the list of target risk countries this year is Poland. But not only Poland is on their radar. Belarus, Malta, Sweden, United Kingdom and Chile have also been identified as emerging risk countries and will be heavily monitored.

It is now more important than ever to have all documents ready for import via an Australian port due to the expected increase in volumes. In addition to a cleanliness declaration and a certificate of treatment, the origin of the goods must also be proven, among other things.

We have created an overview for you of the different types of treatment and the targeted goods.
